Drum Courses #4 and #5

Drum Rudiments are to the beginning drummer what chords are to the beginning guitar player. While the Drum Rudiment System isn’t going to be a course that a brand new beginner is likely going to buy it is a really nice product to supplement what an intermediate player may have picked up either on their own or through a few one-on-one lessons at some point.

This courses teaches you all 40 drum rudiments through high definition video. There’s no other course like this on rudiments that I’ve seen.

I will say if you’re a complete beginner check out the Drumming System as there is an entire section that covers all 40 of the Rudiments as well and both courses are produced by the same company, although with different instructors.

Over all this is a fantastic course, it’s just not really for a brand new beginner. If you have a little understanding on the drums, as in you know what a rudiment is, then this course is well worth the money.

This is the only online/downloaded product we reviewed here on the site. We looked at a few courses but this was the only real worth while beginner course we could.

The Begin Drumming course uses a mixture of audio tracks, short video demonstrations and an in-depth PDF workbook (which you can print out at home) to teach you the basics of the drums and uses a rock and roll drumming focus to get you into your first beats, fills and rudiments.

The course is quite in depth for the price point of $49.95 how ever the video quality could use some updating. I found that the videos were very dark and not always easy to see what was being demonstrated.

For someone who’s not completely sure if they want to learn the drums or not this would be a good course to get your feet wet. How ever I think for the extra money the Drumming System or Learn & Master Drums will take a beginner a lot further then this product will.
